This course will introduce students to the political and economic development of greater China, including Hong Kong and Taiwan. China is home to nearly 19 percent of the world’s population and is poised to soon overtake the United States as the world’s largest economy. To become an informed citizen and active participant in today’s global economy requires a basic understanding of the county and its role in the Asia-Pacific region.
